GENERAL DENTISTRY

Our doctors are devoted to restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of your smile using conservative, state-of-the-art procedures that will result in beautiful, long-lasting smiles. These procedures include tooth-colored fillings (composite restorations), crowns, porcelain crowns that resist breaking, and same-day crowns.

Fillings are used to repair teeth that have decayed or developed cavities. When you come in for a filling, your mouth will be numbed and a drill with be used to remove the decayed enamel. Read more about our dental filling treatments by clicking the link above.

Dental crowns are used to, in a way, rebuild a decaying tooth. Crowns are used to treat teeth with extreme levels of decay that cannot be fixed with a simple filling. If you need a crown, we offer three different types of fillings which are porcelain crowns, amalgam crowns, and gold crowns. The most popular fillings are are porcelain and amalgam because they offer better aesthetic results versus gold fillings.

Cleaning and Scaling

Professional cleaning from a dental hygienist. Just like it sounds, we’re here to help you give your teeth a deep and thorough cleaning. While you absolutely must maintain good brushing and flossing habits, our professional tools and training help remove that tough to remove plaque. Especially, those hard to reach places like behind your teeth.

Dental Exams

As one of the most common dental procedures, you’ve probably had many dental exams during your lifetime. But did you know that in these exams your hygienist or dentist is checking the health of your entire mouth? This includes your gums, your teeth, and your tongue.

Generally, it’s also at this point that we take your x-rays to examine the quality and health of your roots and jaw.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Get the best looking smile of your life with cosmetic dentistry at Snodgrass-King

One of the joys of practicing dentistry is giving patients the smile they always wanted. Our goal is to meet your expectations to the best of our abilities with aesthetic dental procedures that range from veneers to bleaching and even adult orthodontics.

Most of these cosmetic procedures focus on improving the appearance of your teeth, but not necessarily how they function. Depending on your teeth, these may be good alternatives to braces if your teeth need a better alignment.

Another advantage of cosmetic dental care is that these treatments can usually offer results in one visit. However, whitening treatment usually requires multiple visits and a home-centered regimen to achieve the best results.

If you are interested in teeth bleaching or whitening, you can ask one of our dentists for product recommendations as well as an in-office treatment.

TOOTH REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT OPTIONS

Advances in technology have allowed us to offer different choices regarding tooth replacement. If one has to lose a tooth due to large decay (cavity), periodontal disease, broken tooth structure, etc, there are now great options when replacing the missing tooth.

Why is tooth removal and replacement important?

When tooth enamel decays past the point of repair, it causes significant pain and discomfort. Decaying teeth can also lead to a variety of other health issues. Extractions can be performed by oral surgeons or dentists with the proper training.

Will I be numbed during extraction?

When you come in to have a tooth removed, the extraction site is usually numbed but we also offer sedation options to make the treatment as easy as possible for you.

After a removal, you should follow your dentist’s instructions to the letter. When a tooth is fully removed, one potential side effect is dry socket. This happens when the blood clot that helps your gums heal is removed and leaves your jaw and nerves exposed.

Dry socket can be very painful, but it is not untreatable. Talk with your dentist if you start to experience unusual pain or bad breath after a tooth extraction.

Do you offer different types of bridges?

We offer traditional dental bridges that use crowns to anchor the dental bridge between two teeth. You can read more about bridge treatment by clicking the link above.

What About Inlays and Onlays?

In a way, these can be considered fillings, but they are less common because your dentist can usually treat a cavity with a direct filling. Inlays and onlays typically work the same way as crowns by covering the damaged tooth with a band or blanket metal filling.

The main difference between inlays and onlays is how much of the tooth is covered. If one cusp of the tooth or less is covered, it is an inlay. If more than one cusp of the tooth is covered, then it is an onlay.

Full and Partial Dentures

When you’re missing teeth or have to get teeth removed, it can be hard to feel confident with your smile. Dentures are a removable replacement for missing teeth. They also replace and protect the nearby tissue that may have been damaged.

Typically, you see commercials about products for full dentures, but you can get partial dentures too. A full set of dentures are made for people who are missing all of their teeth, or for complete arches of their teeth.
