Dr. David Snodgrass, D.D.S – Pediatrics
Dr. David Snodgrass is a Pediatric Dental Specialist trained in a hospital setting. He received his DDS degree from the University of Tennessee in 1984, certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1986 and has been practicing pediatric dentistry in Nashville since 1987. He is also a part-time assistant clinical professor of pediatric dentistry at Vanderbilt University and Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry.
Having authored eight publications in five different National and International orthodontic and pediatric journals (see below), Dr. Snodgrass is a recognized lecturer and mentor to orthodontic study clubs all over the United States. He is best known for the “Snodgrass Appliance” a unique idea that combined the attributes of the Haas Palatal Expander with the attributes of Dr. Hilger’s Pendulum appliance. His awards include the Achievement, Fellowship and Diplomat Awards from the American Orthodontic Society and the International Association of Orthodontics. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Orthodontic Society, the International Association of Orthodontics and the Tennessee Dental Association. Doctor Snodgrass has treated over 100,000 patients in the middle Tennessee area including over 3,500 cases of physically handicapped and medically compromised children under general anesthesia in out-patient surgery facilities and major hospitals including, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, Centennial and Summit.
He and his wife Melody have 3 children and live in the Nashville area. They are involved with many charitable organizations including Danita’s Children in Quanaminthe, Haiti where they built, equipped, supplied and staffed a medical/dental/eye clinic for Danita’s Children, Hope for Haiti, 501c3 charitable foundation in 2008. Twice a year Dr. Snodgrass takes a team of 15-20 staff members to Haiti to staff the dental clinic. They also take their dental teams to Monkey Jungle in Sosua, Dominican Republic, 501c3 charitable foundation, the Haitian and Dominican Assistance Corporation where they equip and supply a free dental clinic.
Dr. Miriam Hall is the Director of Orthodontics at Snodgrass-King for all five locations. She oversees quality control, assists with the treatment planning and the additional training of all new orthodontists at SnodgrassKing. Dr. Miriam is also the lead orthodontist in the Cool Springs location.
Dr. Miriam has extensive training in the specialty of orthodontics and dento-facial orthopedics. She was raised in Westfield, NJ and began her higher education at Lafayette College in Easton, PA, where she achieved her Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Dr. Miriam was Captain of the women’s soccer team and was on the student-athlete academic honor roll.
She pursued her dental training at the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon and the Matthew Cryer National Dental Honor Societies. She continued on at the University of Pennsylvania for her Post-Doctoral Orthodontic Residency and received her specialty certificate in Orthodontics in 2010.
Dr. Miriam joined the SnodgrassKing family in 2011. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association and the Tennessee Dental Association. Dr. Miriam was honored by being published in the American Journal of Orthodontics. Her publication is entitled “Effects of Rapid Palatal Expansion on the Sagittal and Vertical Dimensions of the Maxilla.”
Dr. Hall was recognized as one of Nashville Lifestyles’ Top Orthodontists in 2017.
For leisure, she enjoys staying active, exercising, cooking and traveling. She resides in Brentwood with her husband Tom and her three children.
Dr. Lauren Poole serves as head of the General and Cosmetic Dentistry department at Snodgrass-King. Originally from San Diego, California, Dr. Poole spent much of her childhood growing up in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. Dr. Poole attended the University of Tennessee and graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s Degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree with honors from the University of Louisville and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Poole quickly made Nashville her permanent home and joined the Snodgrass-King family in 2015. She and her husband live in Nashville and spend their time taking advantage of the Nashville music and restaurant scene. They are also proud to attend most of the Tennessee Volunteers home football games.
