Braces for Kids at Snodgrass & King
Traditional Braces
You can never go wrong with proven and effective traditional braces. By the age of seven, your child should visit a pediatric orthodontist near you to help your children get that straight and beautiful smile. With traditional metal braces, your child will also get to choose the rubber band colors for their braces during their regular appointments.
Metal braces are the most common form of orthodontic treatment when it comes to kid’s braces. However, we do offer additional options through our pediatric dentistry and orthodontic care services.
Clear Braces & Invisalign
We’re happy to provide Invisalign services to our patients throughout Middle Tennessee. Unlike traditional braces, the clear Invisalign aligners fit over the top of your teeth. So, not only do you not have to worry about seeing your braces, but you can also remove them when eating, flossing, or drinking!
On top of those benefits, Invisalign makes it easier to brush and floss your teeth without having to work around metal brackets. However, clear braces still have clear brackets fixed to the permanent teeth with a stainless steel wire running through them.
Palatal Expander Devices PED
One of the traditional orthodontic devices, a PED allows an orthodontist to make room for your child’s teeth to reach proper alignment. Typically, an expander is placed when a child is around seven to eight years old. This allows your child’s jaw to develop properly before they need braces. Make an appointment with one of our orthodontists in Franklin, Cool Springs, Murfreesboro, Spring Hill, or Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
Frequently Asked Questions About Braces for Kids
How Much Do Braces Cost for Kids?
Every patient we see has different needs when it comes to straightening teeth. As a result, we can provide the most detailed quote for the cost of treatment after an in-person consultation with a pediatric orthodontist in Tennessee.
Generally, the cost for braces for kids ranges from $2000-$6000. Because orthodontic treatment through a pediatric dentist’s office is a large investment, our financial experts will work with you to create a customized payment plan. We do our best to work with every type of dental insurance plan to make sure your family’s orthodontic and dental care is covered.
How Long Does Treatment Take?
Because teeth braces technically influence the bone structure, changes take time. Generally, treatment takes about two years to achieve optimal results. Some patients may only require treatment for a year or more.
Can I Get Ceramic Braces?
If you’re worried about having a metal-free smile, ceramic braces may be a good choice for you. You can choose other colors besides a color that matches your tooth if you want to make a fashion statement. Just keep in mind that ceramic braces are more expensive than traditional types of braces and are more prone to breaking.
