Tut, Tut, There is Hope for a Cure!
Last month, we had the extreme pleasure and honor of participating in the 2015 Wilson Mt. Juliet Relay for Life at Charlie Daniels Park. Relay for Life is an organization we believe in, and an event we have participated in at Snodgrass King Dental for the last three years, and hope to continue to do for years to come. Relay for Life is near and dear to all of our hearts, as we have had lives of friends and employees effected by cancer in recent years.
This year, the theme for Relay for Life was “Wish Upon a Cure,” which led to all kinds of fun and interactive Disney-themed booths, games, art and food. Our booth’s individual theme was “Tut Tut, There’s Hope for a Cure,” in honor of our favorite Winnie the Pooh. Our mascot, Chomp, was present and competed in the inaugural “Mascot Showdown” with lots of other area mascots. We also sold snow cones, popcorn, and Winnie the Pooh-themed art prints to raise money for the cause. In addition, everyone vending at Relay for Life has walkers as well, who participate as a team, constantly symbolizing the fact that cancer is a constant battle. We also took home the second place prize for most spirited team! In the end, we had a great time participating in raising money for an extremely worthy cause that is important, not just to our employees, but also to the community at large.
Cancer is a serious and devastating illness. But thanks to efforts from Relay for Life, and other charitable organizations around the country who are dedicated to the fight against it, a cure for many different types of cancer is closer than it has ever been.
Relay for Life events are held every year in hundreds of different locations around the country. If you are interested in donating or participating, please visit www.relayforlife.org.
